- It's the version Windows Update installs, meant for end users ( no server side only stuff like ASP.NET ...).

- In .Net 4.0 it's much better implemented than in 3.5 SP1... but with 4.0 the reduced a lot the full framework size, so it is less needed... we'll see in new releases.

It's his blog, he has his own audience so the message will reach different people. Also, on his blog he can write more than in a comment, include images, links etc. Lastly, there's such a thing as pingbacks, which (when the original blog is configured correctly) results in bog post replies ending up in the comment stream of the original blog.

Really? The name is what bothers you? Perhaps you should focus on the features it brings and train your development staff which choice to make in the Version dropdown. It's not that tough. And BTW, this came out a month ago, you're just complaining about it now?

I agree whole heartedly with this post... Just call it .NET Framework 4.0 Full Profile 2011 Platform Update (KB1234567) RTM?

Can we pick a standard versioning scheme and stick with it? PLEASE?

It is about time MS started provide more verbose descriptions of the framework updates. It is nice to know they do actually read my emails. Microsoft, don't change a thing.
