This reminds me of an old friend from my COM/COM+ days:

"The callee (server [not server application]) is not available and

disappeared; all connections are invalid. The call may have executed."

I'd add "... or maybe not". Bonus point for the ( ) and [ ] nesting.

That's awesome. Since I tend to use IQueryable by default, I haven't hit that error message, but I love the wording.

Imagine if you could create your own error messages, so that, for instance, if someone used nested if-else statements to too deep a level:

"Use of this code will destabilize maintainability."

I load partial view data into div tags for later ajax calls to update those divs. On initial load, I will many times use a partial view.

ie. I am using NHibernate, loading a child collection, I don't want to call that object twice to show a view.

One call is made, the children passed to the partial view.

Then, on that view, if there is a 'in place edit', I can use ajax and update that partial view in the div with the new list of children.

I have no problem with partial views - they represent modular views into a many times complex page.

Like you, I need to be able to grab some data from Sharepoint and have not been able to find a decent web post, and I thought you had it!

But the SPServices.asmx web service is not part of WSS and not part of MOSS, but instead a custom 3rd party web service, right? If correct, how do you grab some data from Sharepoint via a WSS web service?
